CULTURAL DAY AT THE SEDE

DEADLINE DATE FOR MEMBERS TO REGISTER: August 31, 2015 (after this date, members' guests be accepted to fill space available).

The Cultural Committee would like to present the members with a cooking workshop. Members who are interested in cooking with the instructors can contact me. There will be approximately 6 to 8 students to each instructor.

COOKING MENU:

1. Baked pork chop rice
2. Chilicote
3. Fried sticky rice with Chinese sausage
4. Shrimp toast
5. Empada

This will be a casual, Cultural day at the Sede, for all members, those not interested in the cooking workshop, can come and enjoy friendly conversation, line dancing, music, singing, etc., with others present.

There will be as usual, great Macanese food, as well as those prepared by the students, and buffet will be served at 5:00p.m.

The Cultural Committee has a surplus of $256.00, which will offset the cost of the food.

PS We have a full house, however, anyone interested will be on our waiting list as we sometimes have cancellation.

A Cultural Celebration During the Christmas Holiday Season

On December 13, 2014, our Cultural Committee will be having another event. Since it is so close to Christmas, we will celebrate it on a festive theme, like the Macanese families normally did in the past over the Christmas Holiday Season when we all gathered together. Some of our members have indicated to me that they would like to have Tacho and Minchi, therefore Tacho/Minchi will be the main staple. Of course, the usual Macanese Christmas desserts, such as Coscurao, Genetes, Farte, Pao de Leite, Bolo Menino Bagi, etc. will adorn the table.

We know that our Casa has very many talented chefs and bakers, and if any of you would like to volunteer some of your savory desserts, entrees, etc., it will be so welcome. Just let me know what you are making, and remember to keep the receipts so we can reimburse you.

The cost for this event will be $10:00 per person, and children under the voting age will be free. This event will start at 4:00 p.m., and there will be no limit as to the time it ends - just so long as you promise, like Cinderella, to leave before the clock strikes 12.

Because this will not be a sit-down dinner, we do not have to set a limit with regards to attendants like we usually do for the cooking-demo classes, which are the regular sit down lunches. We can extend the guest list to accommodate more members, and will be able to accept 45 members, and maybe squeeze in a couple more, as we don't want to disappoint our Casa members. As usual, this will be on a first come, first served basis, so please let me know as soon as possible. Please also let me know if you are bringing any children to this event.
